Morning possibilities of snow, chilly situations – CBS Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – If you’ve forgotten what snow looks like, this weekend is for you.
The good news is that in most locations the snow was light with no build-up and few, if any, slick spots were reported.
There are exceptions to the rule, however, like in the laurels above where they saw some smaller clusters.
In most places, the snow will end by 9:00 a.m. at the latest.
The only exception is locations north of I-80, where temperatures remain cold enough for snow, along with conditions that appear conducive to sea effect snow, including high winds.
I covered the area today. The wind should come from the west at a speed of 10-20 miles per hour.
This morning we saw significant wind chill for the first time this season, with wind chills in the mid to below 20s.
If you look ahead, the cold air doesn’t stay too long.
I forecast a mid-1960s high on Wednesday.
On Thursday it will rain again late in the morning for the rest of the day.
Thursday’s highs should still hit the mid-50s. It gets chilly on Friday before more seasonal weather arrives at the weekend.
