JASON FERDERBER, MD

STATE COLLEGE – Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Ferderber, MD, to the Mount Nittany Physician Group Orthopedics.

“Injuries often change daily life, be it by limiting work performance, impairing time with the family or restricting physical activity.” says dr. Perishable. “Every day I challenge myself to do whatever it takes to get people back to the lifestyle they enjoy.”

As an emergency doctor with specialist knowledge of sports medicine, Dr. Ferderber takes care of active people, including athletes of all levels. He works with patients not only to improve health and fitness, but also to prevent and treat injuries and illnesses. His knowledge and expertise in sports medicine emphasize wellness and the role of exercise in promoting a healthy lifestyle.

He joins an orthopedic team at the Mount Nittany Physician Group that offers an integrated sports medicine program and works with sports coaches and physical therapy specialists to develop specific rehabilitation plans that keep patients safe at work and with surgical and non-surgical treatment options Bring back free time. The Mount Nittany Physician Group’s orthopedic doctors also work with experienced radiologists to provide advanced diagnostic imaging, including 3-Telsa MRI, to create customized treatment plans.

Dr. Ferderber earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Penn State with honors. He then went to Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, where he earned his medical degree and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, which recognizes the front-runners in their medical class. He completed his postgraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, completed his residency in emergency medicine, and then completed his fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine.

When he’s not working, Dr. Ferderber “Typically outdoors if possible, whether cycling, running or hiking with my Golden Retriever.” He also enjoys playing cards and board games with family and friends and honing his hobby cooking skills in the kitchen.
