Nation-themed bar set to open at Stay! On line casino Pittsburgh subsequent month

A new country-themed restaurant is set to open at Live! Casino Pittsburgh next month.

PBR Pittsburgh will open June 11 at the Hempfield-based casino as part of a second wave of openings. Located next to Sports & Social Steel City in the casino at Westmoreland Mall, the 4,560-square-foot restaurant will include line dancing, specialty-themed Friday nights, midnight military salutes and a professionally endorsed mechanical riding bull.

“There is nothing like PBR Pittsburgh in the area,” Sean Sullivan, general manager at Live! Casino, said in a news release. “We’re eager to see our guests kick up their heels, listen to live country music and tackle the infamous mechanical riding bull during a fun night out.”

The location is the 10th in the Professional Bull Riders country bar chain with locations in Philadelphia, Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas and Georgia.

“Since the first PBR country bar launched in 2008, the concept has been a phenomenal success,” Sean Gleason, commissioner and CEO of PBR, said in the release. “PBR country bars, now in 10 locations around the country, provide a strong daily brand presence for the sport in a fun, lifestyle venue where our fans can come out and release their inner cowboy.”

Officials with the casino have been gearing up for the opening, and recently hosted a hiring event. The restaurant concept was first announced in November.

Among the management team for the restaurant is Dustin “DJ” Givner, who has played an active role in opening more than 30 bars and entertainment venues, including Tequila Cowboy on Pittsburgh’s North Shore and Local Bar + Kitchen, which has locations on Pittsburgh’s South Side and in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

“PBR Pittsburgh is more than a bar,” Givner said in the release. “It’s an attitude and way of life that celebrates your free spirit — your wild side. We’re looking forward to bringing this unique and exciting concept to Live! Casino.”
