The Pittsburgh Film Office virtual red carpet fundraiser

The show has to go online! The Pittsburgh Film Office will roll out the virtual red carpet for the 21st Annual Lights on April 24th from 8pm to 9pm! Shine! Action! Fundraiser. Online events include a photo booth, celebrity speakers, musical performances, and a presentation of the film lines’ video competition prizes.

Have a gin gimlet to support Night Life Line

Get a drink to help the local hospitality and nightlife staff whose lives have been put on hold due to Covid. Creatives Drink, Shop412, Lawrenceville Distilling, and Market Street Grocery have teamed up to create a 12-ounce gin gimlet in support of Night Life Line. Cans sell for $ 10 each at Market Street Grocery at 435 Market St., Downtown, while supplies last. The proceeds will benefit the crisis relief organization for people in Pittsburgh’s food, beverage and entertainment industries. Night Life Line is a collaboration between Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Aid and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Independent Venue Association.

Allegheny County is home to pop-up collections of e-waste in May

The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is launching a pilot recycling program for the collection of electronics from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesdays and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursdays in May at the Michael Brothers Hauling & Recycling locations at 408 Hoffman Road in Reserve and at 901 Morning Street in Baldwin. Users can hand in cell phones and home phones, computer towers, keyboards, laptops, video game consoles, and DVD players for free. Televisions, computer monitors, and printers are accepted for a fee. Register in advance online or by calling 412-488-7490 x 3.

Pittsburgh is hosting the 2023 National Senior Games

The 2023 National Senior Games will take place in Pittsburgh. Thousands of athletes over 50 will participate in more than 20 sports within two weeks. The biennial event, managed locally by SportsPITTSBURGH and P3R, is expected to attract nearly 30,000 visitors to the area, with an economic impact of $ 35 million. Pittsburgh previously hosted the event in 2005.

Take a survey on the reopening of public spaces

The Pittsburgh Creative Corps, a collaboration between Riverlife, the Office of Public Art, and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, seeks to involve local artists in projects that support public health, community healing, and economic recovery. To achieve this goal, the organization published an online survey on the reopening and return of public open spaces in Pittsburgh. It will be open until May 3rd.
