PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Several police stations joined forces on Saturday for Operation Cross Walk.
Allegheny County, Mt. Police authorities in Lebanon and Bethel Park raised awareness of pedestrian safety.
Officers say the warmer weather means more pedestrians on the street.
“We don’t want people to accelerate, we don’t want people to be injured or injured. The nicer the weather, the more people come out. That’s why we want to make sure people, both the drivers of the vehicles and the pedestrians themselves, are careful when they leave, ”said John Robb, Allegheny County Police Sergeant.
This event concludes a week-long effort by local departments to raise awareness of pedestrian laws.
