CANONSBURG (KDKA) – Both the Jewish Passover and Christian Holy Week begin this weekend.

While both are deeply religious times to people of faith, it’s also a time when chocolate bunnies and those sugar-filled peeps show up.

Americans spend about $ 2.5 billion on Easter candy every spring, and this year is no exception.

One of the best known local candy manufacturers is Sarris Candies in Canonsburg.

On a tap on the Sunday Business Page with Jon Delano, the company’s president, Bill Sarris, says everyone is looking forward to a chocolate spring after a rough year.

“Now is the time for the confectionery industry. It’s one of the biggest candy seasons of the year. Things are getting better … people are getting back to work, ”said Bill Sarris.

The full interview with Bob Sarris and Jon Delano can be seen on the Sunday Business Page, which airs during the KDKA-TV Sunday Morning News.
