Pa. Consultant Mike Reese dies of obvious mind aneurysm – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pennsylvania House Representative Mike Reese (R-Westmoreland, Somerset) has died of an apparent brain aneurysm.
Reese was recently re-elected in the November 3rd general election to represent the 59th Ward of Pennsylvania, which serves parts of Westmoreland and Somerset counties.
He was first elected to the Pa’s House of Representatives in 2008 and took office in the 2009/10 legislative period.
Reese served as the Republican caucus des Pa during the 2019-20 session. House as caucus secretary and was elected chairman of the caucus at the 2020-21 session.
He died Saturday afternoon at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital with his family by his side after the apparent brain aneurysm.
In a statement, Kerry Benninghoff, majority leader of the Pa, said. House:
“On behalf of the entire House Republican Caucus, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and condolences to Rep. Mike Reese’s family.”
“Mike was more than a friend of all of us and one of our caucus leaders. He was a devoted husband and father. His wife, three young children and an extended family are on our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. “
“I have known Mike since he took office in 2009 and was proud to testify to his many legislative achievements, particularly his tireless work for the students and families in Pennsylvania. Mike was a model lawmaker who thoughtfully put his voters first. His spirit, presence and advice will be sorely missed. “
Reese tested positive for coronavirus on December 7th.
A native of Mt. Pleasant, Reese graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School prior to attending Duquesne University, where he received a bachelor’s degree, and Seton Hill University, where he received a master’s degree.
He is survived by his wife Angela and three children.
Reese was 42 years old.
