Penguins, NHL, 84th Lumber Group celebrates Gender Equality Month collectively – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Penguins’ Foundation will join forces with the NHL to celebrate Gender Equality Month in March to increase the number of women playing hockey.

On Sunday they started “Her Hockey Day” with a hockey learning event in North Park. The event was designed for girls ages 5 to 13 to try out hockey completely free of charge.

In another attempt to further honor Gender Equality Month, the Penguins and 84 Lumber will give something back to a local female-owned company with a grant of $ 25,000.
