Pittsburgh Catholic Congregation proclaims 4 new merged dioceses
The Pittsburgh Catholic Congregation announced on Saturday that 15 congregations would be merged into four new congregations. The merger will take place on July 1, 2021. The four new churches are:
- All saints (Butler / Zentrum / Lindra / Meridian), St. Andreas, St. Fideris von Sigmalingen, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Paul, St. Peter Parish
- Christ the King (Lower Allegheny Valley), St. Joseph, St. Juan Diego, St. Pio of Pietrelcina, St. Scholastica Parish
- Virgin Maryof (Aliquippa / Center / Hopewell / Monaca) This is a compilation of St. Francis Cabrini, St. John the Baptist, Our Lady of Fatima and the Parish of St. Titus.
- Our Lady of Eternal Help (Alison Park / Glenshaw), consolidates the congregation of the Virgin Mary and Saint Ursula.
Each merger was proposed by the priestly administrator of the group in close consultation with the parishioners.
