Pittsburgh Opera proclaims its 2021-22 season | Neighborhood information
Pittsburgh Opera has announced its 2021-22 season and will return to larger venues while offering digital programming.
The company’s Benedum Center 2021-22 productions are re-dates of operas that were previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Die Zauberflöte”, originally planned for November 2020, will be performed in November 2021; “Carmen”, which was rehearsed at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, will now be performed in March 2022. Two further operas planned for the Benedum Center – “Rusalka” and “Aida” – are expected to be included in the Pittsburgh Opera’s 2022/23 season.
“The Magic Flute” will be presented on November 6th, 9th, 12th and 14th. “Carmen” will be performed on March 26th, April 1st and April 3rd, 2022.
On January 22, 25, 28, and 30, 2022, the Pittsburgh Opera headquarters on Liberty Ave. 2425 “The Rose Elf” produced, a premiere in Pittsburgh. “In a Grove”, a world premiere, on March 19, 22, 25, 27, and 1 and 3, 2022. “Blue”, another premiere in Pittsburgh, will be Wilson African American on April 23 in August Cultural Center can be seen.
