Pittsburgh Pierogi Pageant returns to Kennywood – WPXI
WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — After year-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival is returning to Kennywood Park in September.
The event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 1 to 6 p.m. Tickets to the event went on sale today with early bird pricing available through July 15, and will be available for sale through Sept. 26 at noon. Early Bird tickets are $23.99 for adults and $9.99 for children under 13. 1,000 discounted tickets are available until July 15, 2021 or until they sell out. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event. The ticket price includes access to the event, free parking, free local entertainment and activities, and access to Kennywood’s classic rides, including the Merry-Go-Round, Thunderbolt, Jack Rabbit, Racer, Turtle, and Noah’s Ark.
More than two-dozen pierogi vendors will be serving traditional preparations and multicultural twists on Pittsburgh’s favorite food. The park’s gift shops and several concession and food stands will also be open for the day. Biergartens will be open for 21+ guests.
The Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival began in 2012 with its popularity and crowds growing each year, and has been hosted by Kennywood since 2017. The 2019 festival welcomed over 5,000 guests
The festival’s Pop-Up Pierogi Marketplace is also returning with artisans selling pierogi inspired and Pittsburgh-specific wares, and live local music will also return to this years’ festival.
Pre-sale General Admission tickets are $23.99 for adults and $12.99 for children under 13. Tickets will be available for pre-sale up to and including the day of the festival with ticket sales closing at Noon on September 26, 2021. Tickets will be available at the door for $29.99 for adults and $12.99 for children under 13.
