Pittsburgh Police be part of road chess gamers throughout the summer season

(WTRF) – The Pittsburgh Police Department will make their best impression of Queen’s Gambit when they take on the best of the best on Market Street in Pittsburgh.

Community Resource Officers and Neighborhood Resource Officers went a step further in downtown Pittsburgh last month, coming into businesses and talking to people on the street to hear their concerns.

This resulted in officers joining chess players in the marketplace for some friendly matches.

This day was such a success that the Pittsburgh Police Department will be making this a weekly event.

Every week from April 20th at 12 noon, weather permitting, the officers will come to chess players throughout the summer, with sets and chess boards

Everyone is welcome – avid chess players, beginners and even newbies who want to learn
