Pittsburgh U-Haul worker dies after buyer dispute ends in shootout
A Pittsburgh U-Haul employee is dead after a customer shot him in an argument last week. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office reports that Jacob Jaillet, 21), of Pittsburgh, died in a hospital around 11:46 a.m. on Sunday showed a man whom police identified as a suspect, a truck – Braijon Burton, 21) of Pittsburgh, at Underground Haul on the 1000 block of Washington Boulevard. “Burton said that at that moment he said to himself, ‘I’m taking this truck,’ and Burton said he shot the guy,” the records read. According to police, Burton shot the victim in the neck and is said to be initially in critical condition. Burton then stole a U-Haul vehicle and fled the scene, according to police. Burton was then followed by police on Route 28 near 31st Street Bridge, where he was then taken into custody, which led to the shooting. “The guy wanted the truck too long. We couldn’t give it to him. He was mad about it, so he shot my colleague and ran away with the truck,” said the clerk. U-Haul of Pittsburgh President Elizabeth Hertzler issued the following statement: “The news of Jake’s death is heartbreaking to our Pittsburgh team and our entire company. This was a cold, senseless, and tragic crime that cost him his life. Jake was a special young man with a bright future. He was sincerely loved by his U-Haul family. It may sound cliché, but it really lit up a room. Everyone was always happy to be with Jake and so excited when they could work with him. We all knew Jake was a great baseball player, but he was an even better person. Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends, teammates and colleagues. ”Police say Burton is expected to be charged with murder and is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail.

Allegheny County’s coroner’s office reports that Jacob Jaillet, 21, of Pittsburgh, died in a hospital at around 11:46 a.m. on Sunday
According to the criminal complaint, Jaillet showed a man identified by police as a suspect – Braijon Burton, 21, of Pittsburgh, on the U-Haul on the 1000 block of Washington Boulevard.
“Burton said that at that moment he said to himself, ‘I’m taking this truck,’ and Burton said he shot the guy,” the records read. According to police, Burton shot the victim in the neck and is said to be initially in critical condition.
Burton then stole a U-Haul vehicle and fled the scene, according to police. Burton was then followed by police on Route 28 near 31st Street Bridge, where he was then taken into custody.
Speaking to reporter Kylie Walker of Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, a staff member at the U-Haul Center said the victim was a staff member and explained what led to the shootings.
