PPG Appoints Kappas Vice President, International Sustainability, Carroll Vice President, Car Producers, Americas, and Mobility
PITTSBURGH – (BUSINESS WIRE) – PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced two executive appointments effective July 1. Diane Kappas, the current vice president of automotive OEM coatings in America, will become vice president of global sustainability. Andrew Carroll, the current vice president of industrial coatings in America, will become vice president of automotive OEM coatings in America and mobility. Kappas reports to Amy Ericson, senior vice president, packaging coatings, and Carroll reports to Rebecca Liebert, executive vice president.

Kappas will work with PPG teams to advance the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts, including reducing the environmental impact of operations, increasing the positive impact of PPG in the communities in which the company operates is, and increasing sales with sustainably beneficial products value for customers. Kappas has more than 35 years of experience at PPG and has held various business and operational leadership roles in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, human resources, and the environment, health and safety (EHS). She earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Business Administration from Duquesne University.
Carroll will be responsible for leading the OEM coatings business in the Americas region through developing a growth-oriented business strategy. He will also lead and manage the global rollout and execution strategy for PPG’s automotive mobility initiatives, which focus on developing a pipeline for autonomous, connected, electric and shared vehicles. Carroll began his PPG career in 1991 and has held a variety of high-impact leadership roles in technology, product management, and mergers and acquisitions over the past 30 years. Carroll earned a BS in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and a MS in engineering with a concentration in electrochemistry, business management and product development from Case Western Reserve University.
