PPG begins digital schooling program of the PPG Aerospace Academy

SYLMAR, California – (BUSINESS WIRE) – PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced the launch of the PPG Aerospace Academy Online, a virtual training program that provides users of the company’s aerospace products with on-demand access to online learning modules and resources.

Nine coating-related courses are available now and cover a range of topics from the basics of surface preparation and priming to cutting edge technologies such as basecoat / clearcoat systems and PPG AEROCRON ™ electrodeposition primer. PPG plans to expand its offering to include segments of its sealants, adhesives and packaging for the aerospace industry.

The new, virtual training resources are an extension of PPG’s ongoing personal PPG Aerospace Academy and allow greater flexibility and access to the company’s longstanding industry knowledge and technical know-how.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, we adapted our training modules to provide pioneering ways to interact with and support our customers,” said Jonathan Love, head of PPG Aerocron’s commercial support team. “Participants are not restricted by their physical location or ability to travel. First-hand access to industry-leading resources is now just a few clicks away. ”

He added, “The PPG Aerospace Academy ensures that our customers are at the forefront of the latest aerospace technologies. Be it through traditional face-to-face and practical experience or our new online training, the academy aims to keep the participants up to date. ”
