12/05/2021 01:46:48 GMT + 00: 00 – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has confided in friends, teammates and others within the organization that he is expecting his last one in Pittsburgh this season, according to a report from ESPN.

Roethlisberger’s public stance was that he doesn’t want to play anywhere else, and a source told ESPN that stance still holds: his appearance in any other NFL city is “very unlikely”.

This would mean the future Hall of Famer will retire once the NFL season ends, and so he and members of the team are nearing the final five games of the season.

Roethlisberger, 39, has played his entire 18-year career in Pittsburgh and holds the most records in the franchise, including degrees (5,298), yards (62,870) and touchdowns (410).

The six-time pro bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion had one of his least productive seasons as a professional in 2021, throwing 2,522 yards with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Steelers (5-5-1) are fresh after a 41:10 defeat in Cincinnati and are currently outside the AFC playoff picture. They host the Baltimore Ravens on the Sunday before they end this way: in Minnesota vs. Tennessee, in Kansas City, vs. Cleveland, and in Baltimore.
