Reside updates for the New York Yankees Spring Coaching at Pittsburgh Pirates
BRADENTON, Fla. – The Yankees traveled to Bradenton for Game 7 of the Spring Training Exhibition Games. After a brief rain delay, we’re supposed to leave at about 2.15 p.m. ET and the tarpaulin has fallen from the field.

This was supposed to be Gerrit Cole’s start against his former team, but with rain in the forecast, the Yankees decided to withhold the right-handed in Tampa. Cole threw a simulation game against his teammates and scored up to 50 spots.
Another former pirate (Jameson Taillon) takes on Cole’s place against his former club. Some starters are also on the offensive – Jay Bruce, Derek Dietrich, Mike Tauchman and others continue to battle for a spot on opening day.

First inning
Jay Bruce shattered his first home run of spring, putting Cody Ponce deep in right midfield. Yankees take a 1-0 lead.
Jameson Taillon looked really good in his first inning of work, knocking out two.
Second inning
Jameson Taillon’s afternoon is over. He threw two innings, hit four, and allowed only one hit and one step. He threw 39 pitches, a really solid move for Taillon as he worked back from his second operation on Tommy John.
Third inning
There goes the shutout … Jhoulys Chacin scores two runs in the lower part of the third frame when Pittsburgh takes a 2-1 lead.
Fifth inning
Pittsburgh adds another run with a solo shot by Gregory Polanco to center the field in front of Luis Cessa. Most starters got out of this game for New York too.
Pirates lead 3-1.
Sixth inning
Clint Frazier launched an absolute moon shot on left field for a solo home run and reduced the Yankees’ deficit to 3-2.
