Rising floods, chilly temperatures, sunshine – CBS Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Lots of sunshine is expected today, but don’t let the sun fool you.
Temperatures will be on the cold side, with highs in the upper 30’s and morning lows near 20 degrees.

The morning temperatures will be a good 20 to 25 degrees colder than yesterday at this time.

If you factor in winds of around 16 km / h, the wind chill drops to almost 10 degrees this morning and should be 30 degrees this afternoon.
The big story of the day is still the water level on the Monongahela River.

The river forecasts still show high water through Wednesday, with river levels back in acceptable ranges by Thursday morning.

It will likely take all weekend to clean up damage to roads and places like Mon Wharf.
Corporations and private homes that have taken water in basements and experienced minor flooding will take longer to get things back to normal.
The good news is that it looks like we’re going to see a rain gap, with our next “real” chance of rain happening sometime next week.

It’s a bit of a surprise that our forecast looks dry as the arctic jet will plunge into our region.
