Robert (Bob) E. Oesch | Information, sports activities, jobs

Robert (Bob) E. Oesch of Lisbon, Ohio passed away quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, July 28th, at the age of 93.

Bob was born on May 30, 1928 in Alliance Ohio to his parents Herbert and Goldie (née Witherspoon) Oesch. He attended Alliance High School. Through a cousin he met the love of his life and his 69-year-old wife, Pat Oesch (née Arter), who is originally from Lisbon, Ohio. Pat preceded Bob to Heaven in March 2019.

Bob was proud to have started his professional career at Sears in Alliance, Ohio, where he began sweeping floors. He was promoted to the automotive department and in a few years headed the paint and building materials department. A friend introduced him to the recruiting team at Morgans Engineering in Alliance. He was always proud that after testing, he was recommended to train as an electrical draftsman. He attended the University of Akron and earned his associate degree in electronic technology. He spent most of his professional life at Morgan Engineering.

Bob was a loving husband and father. He led a life of simplicity, integrity, honor, spirituality, and kindness. He adored Pat, his daughters and grandchildren, and always found ways to offer him gentle guidance throughout his life.

Bob and Pat found their Guilford Lake retreat at Clewell’s Landing first and then their lakefront home after they retired. They enjoyed chatting with neighbors, chatting on their deck, and making homemade wine. Bob was known fondly as “Mister. Fix it” from his family.

He leaves behind his devoted daughter Dawn M. Gerz from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren Jason Gerz and Jada Gerz, Dawn’s husband Art Sobczak and son-in-law Randy Krause. He is still survived by dear friend Kay Ryan of East Liverpool, Ohio.

Bob precedes his wife Pat, daughter Melodie, parents and sister Virginia in death.

In keeping with his low-key lifestyle, Bob was cremated. He just wanted to sit on the mantelpiece with Pat. Family, friends, and neighbors of Guilford Lake are invited to join on Saturday, April 21.

The family thanks you for your condolences. Donations to celebrate Bob’s life can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford (146 Neely School Rd, Wexford, PA 15090) or Angels for Animals (angelsforanimals.org).
