Robert F. Navarra Jr. 1974-2021 | Information, sports activities, jobs
CORTLAND – Robert “Bobby” Navarra Jr., 47, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 21, 2021.
He was born on January 4, 1974 in Warren to Robert Navarra Sr. and Linda Allen Navarra. He attended Mathews Schools, which he graduated in 1992. He was a little athlete growing up and excelled in football and basketball as a proud member of the Mustang track and field organizations. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1996.
Over the years, Bob has made work-life balance a major priority. He preferred a bachelor lifestyle, living mostly on hot sauce, cheese, gas station burritos, and Kellogg’s cracklin ‘oat bran. He was a self-motivated, creative project starter, but often let himself be distracted from his next big dream. He was a free spirit who had a habit of going where the wind took him. He loved going to concerts and music festivals, camping in the quarry, drifting down on the river, retreating with a fishing rod and couch surfing. He enjoyed a simple way of life.
Bob was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed watching the Games with his father and brothers and taking trips to Heinz Field to personally feed the energy. He loved high-five during the Steelers victories, even if it was with a complete stranger. A self-proclaimed movie buff, card and board game maniac, he was known for getting lost in a good book. He loved having big bonfires (even if it meant accidentally blowing up the neighborhood while lighting it) and casually strumming on his guitar.
He took pride in being a kleptomaniac and taking as many lighters as possible on an outing. He enjoyed the occasional jog to nowhere. His playlist would contain the tunes of the glory days – Audioslave or Metallica. He never missed an episode of South Park and loved impersonating Family Guys Quagmire. He was recently hired to transport the Amish and spent the time doing odd jobs. He loved botany and dreamed of becoming a farmer when he did “grew up.”
Bob was a bright light and definitely “unique.” He is much regretted. He leaves behind his loving family, his parents, Robert Navarra Sr. and Linda Navarra from Cortland, to keep his memory. Sister, Melissa Mele of Brookfield; Brothers, Michael Navarra (Jess Cox) of Warren and Joshua Navarra Sr. and Dan Navarra, both of Niles. He also leaves behind his adoring nephew Joshua Navarra Jr .; and nieces, Brianna and Maleena Navarra. You will miss growing up with him and playing pranks on their uncle “Boobies.”
He also leaves an expanded circle of family and friends who simply call him. know “Cousin Bob.”
A celebration of life (and classic bob style) “Irish farewell”) is scheduled for July 10, 2021 at Leon’s Sports Bar & Grill in Howland, 1111 Niles Cortland Road NE, Warren, OH44484, where family and friends can attend from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
