Social Standing’s flagship meals, beverage and retail location is taking on the previous Savoy location within the Strip District – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – James Whitner is expanding his Pittsburgh operations to take over the former Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District with plans to transform it into a place that combines retail, food and drink while providing a welcoming and social atmosphere for all.

When it opens in the second half of 2022, the new Social Status will be located at 2623 Penn Ave. to the flagship location of the growing retail company, which also has locations in Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh, North Carolina; Atlanta; Houston; and Tampa Bay, Florida, in addition to its East Liberty and downtown Pittsburgh locations – the brand’s first retail location. The company has traditionally sold items such as shoes, shirts, and other apparel.

But the new flagship location will offer something that the others do not have: A combination of food and drink in a relaxed retail environment. And that is not limited to snacks and soft drinks, but also to complete menus and a full-service bar in lounge-like and traditional seating configurations.
