TCU men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon tested positive for COVID-19, he announced on Twitter Monday evening.

Dixon, who said he was tested as part of the team’s standard screening, is now isolated.

After our team-wide testing, I was told that I had tested positive for COVID-19. I’ve started self-isolating and I’m looking forward to continuing our season soon.

The TCU started the season 9-5 and 2-4 in the Big 12 game. The Horned Frogs have lost three times in a row, two of which were to No. 9 Kansas and No. 2 Baylor.

The Big 12 postponed TCU’s home games against Texas Tech on Wednesday and Texas on Saturday due to Dixon’s positive test. It is unclear when these will be invented.

Dixon is in his fifth season with the Horned Frogs after spending 13 years in Pittsburgh. The 55-year-old set a 93-62 record in Fort Worth but only played once in the NCAA tournament.

Jamie Dixon recently tested positive for COVID

Dixon is the youngest college coach to test positive for the coronavirus this season. He is moving to Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim and Baylor coach Scott Drew, among others. Nebraska’s trainer Fred Hoiberg announced on Sunday that he was one of 12 people in his program who tested positive for the coronavirus, and South Carolina trainer Frank Martin announced that he had tested positive for the second time.

Some programs over the past week have had to either suspend team activities or postpone games due to outbreaks, including the state of Michigan, Georgetown, Oregon, the state of Iowa, the state of Oklahoma, and West Virginia.

According to the New York Times, the country is seeing an average of more than 218,000 new coronavirus cases and more than 3,300 deaths per day as of Monday night. Texas alone has an average of more than 22,000 new cases per day, the second highest in the country after California.
