PITTSBURGH (AP) – An aircraft with 77 people on board slid off a taxiway prior to takeoff at Pittsburgh International Airport, but no injuries were reported.
Delta Air Lines Flight 2231 was about to take off when it partially slipped into a ditch around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Boeing 717 went to Atlanta.
The plane was safely evacuated and everyone on board had taken the bus back to the terminal. Delta said many passengers decided to continue their journey on an alternative plane late Wednesday evening, while others left on a regular scheduled flight Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service reported light snow and fog at the time and visibility of three quarters of a mile.
Delta said it is conducting a full review in coordination with the Allegheny County Airport Authority and “other aviation actors”.
