A Connecticut man has just returned from another state where he has donated a part of himself for the third time.
Anthony Cernera works at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center for Philanthropy in Bridgeport.
He just got back from Pittsburgh donating part of his liver to a recipient there.
He also donated a kidney and bone marrow to a woman in California.
Cernera says he’s doing this because he wants to help others.
“I think meeting these two recipients was really a wonderful motivation to see this act, which was pretty easy and didn’t cost me that much,” said Cernera. “Really transformed and hopefully a life saved and being able to do that a third time has been a real privilege.”
Cernera says he has not yet met his liver recipient but hopes to see you soon.
Cernera says he is still feeling pretty good after the surgery and is preparing to do one of his favorite things – skydiving.
