The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) has received a US $ 100,000 donation from the family of two long-time patients.
Cardiologist Saul Silver, MD, treated the patients in question Annie and Sorel Myers for three decades. The Myers family made the donation to thank Silver and the rest of UPMC for the “compassionate care” that Annie and Sorel Myers have received over the years. Silver had known the Myers family since 1988.
“I was touched and speechless when I heard about the gift,” said Silver in a UPMC press release. “There are two types of people in this world: givers and takers. I’ve never been good at taking. “
