The nation’s first Public Lands retailer opens in Pittsburgh

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA – Pittsburgh’s Dick’s Sporting Goods is holding a weekend festival to celebrate the opening of its first Public Lands store in Cranberry Square. The outdoor theme shop opens on Friday.

Local bands will play with national acts from Portugal throughout the weekend. The Man and Brittany Howard perform on Saturday. Food trucks and Stick City Brewing will also be on site. Demonstrations are also offered by Brooks, Smartwool, Nemo, Black Diamond, La Sportiva, Altra, Salomon, Jack Wolfskin, Camelbak, Nikwax, Chaco, and others.

Public Lands stocks outdoor and lifestyle clothing, shoes and equipment brands. The store will also support the local outdoor community through conservation initiatives and access and equity-based efforts, with one percent of all Public Lands sales flowing back into local and national sales
Conservation programs.

The 50,000-square-foot store has a 9-foot rock wall, equipment repair and rental department, and shops specializing in various outdoor activities such as biking, camping, fishing, paddling, skiing, climbing, running, and hiking.
