The Newest: Crimson Sox Nearer Matt Barnes Checks Constructive | Sports activities
The latest on the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on sports around the world:
Boston Red Sox seamstress Matt Barnes has tested positive for COVID-19 and is not ready for opening day.
Manager Alex Cora said on Saturday that Barnes is asymptomatic. Matt Andriese, who was due to start a spring training game against Pittsburgh, has been scratched for contract prosecution.
“It’s a fire drill now,” said Cora.
Barnes had become the lead candidate for the turnkey job that spring. He has to stay outside for at least 10 days.
