SEWICKLEY (KDKA) – The turmoil at Sewickley Academy over the recent major changes in the school administration continues.
The school principal and five other administrators have been fired in the past few weeks.
This included the Academy’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion.
The Pennsylvania NAACP called it “Removal of African Leadership”.
On Friday, the new headmaster met with a group of parents who feared the school might withdraw from its diversity plan.
“The board has doubled its commitment. They said they have no plans to change the plan. The plan wasn’t approved by the board until May, and they said they had every intention of moving forward with whatever goal was in the plan. So we’ve asked them to come out and make this statement publicly and we’ll see what they say, ”said Karris Jackson, a Sewickley Academy parent.
The parents did not get a fixed appointment from the board.
