These eating places within the Pittsburgh space have been permitted for the biggest grant from the Restaurant Revitalization Fund – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – At least 779 local restaurants, bars, and other hospitality-related businesses have been approved with more than $ 200 million in grants to offset losses incurred since the pandemic began.

That comes from an analysis by the Business Times, which on July 9 published data from the US Small Business Administration’s $ 28.6 billion restaurant revitalization fund program.

For analysis, the Business Times looked at the funds allocated to Congressional Districts of Pennsylvania No. 14, 16, 17, and 18, all of Counties Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, and Washington, and northern Counties of Erie, Crawford, Lawrence, and. cover Mercer. These congressional districts also include butler and Westmoreland counties.

What is remarkable about the data, however, is that the list contains companies that have been approved for funding. Some companies may have been approved but no grant has been accepted.

The SBA approved the region’s largest grant, $ 10 million, for Whole Enchilada Inc., located at 5740 Baum Blvd. Suite 2 in Pittsburgh, which is the same address as the restaurant and catering business of the large Burrito Restaurant Group. Big Burrito did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
