PITTSBURGH – Police say three people are dead after a car crashed into a plasma donation center on Western Avenue in the Manchester borough.

A mass accident notification (MCI) was issued due to the severity of the damage and the unknown number of victims trapped at the time the police and ambulance service arrived.

Doctors pronounced three victims dead, including one person in the vehicle.

“You wake up every morning, you don’t know what’s going to happen to you. Whether it’s walking down the street or donating blood, you know the tragedy, ”said Wendell Hissrich, Pittsburgh Public Safety representative.

Two others were also injured, according to the police. One of them is in critical condition. A paramedic from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and two Pittsburgh Firefighters were also treated for minor smoke inhalation.

At that time there were around 10 employees and five kebabs in the building, today many of them are devastated. A witness was in the building at the time of the crash and says it was a surreal moment for him.

“Just, I mean really shock, it was just numb like me, I’m still racing, just not sure what happened,” said donor Shane McDevitt.

After the crash, a small fire broke out in the building and two first responders were treated for smoke inhalation.

The crews managed to pull a red Hyundai out of the building.

In a statement regarding the incident, Biomat USA’s corporate office said:
