Two main festivals are returning to Pittsburgh this weekend as COVID-19 circumstances have risen – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – Two big festivals are making their comeback this weekend, Picklesburgh and Little Italy Days in Bloomsfield.

Both events draw tens of thousands of people, but with the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, this is now a cause for concern days ahead of the events.

Both festivals are food and entertainment galore. However, the CDC has identified western Pennsylvania as a hotspot for transmitting COVID-19. Allegheny County is at a high level right now, so some people may stay away from the celebrations fearing that they could become super spreaders.

On Channel 11 News, WPXI’s Jillian Hartmann will speak to the Allegheny County Health Department and festival organizers about how they plan to keep festivals safe this year starting at 5 p.m.
