Two Pittsburgh Steelers named NFLPA’s rising star checklist
PITTSBURGH – The NFLPA released its Rising Stars “Rookie” and “Veteran” lists, which included two Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wide receiver Chase Claypool and running back Najee Harris were selected by the NFLPA. Claypool was one of four broad recipients on the “veterans” list. Harris, the first turn back in last month’s draft, was one of two setbacks on the “rookie” list.
The Rising Stars list identifies top rookies and veterans approaching the breakout season, increasing fan support, and becoming the top merchandise sellers in 2021.

Harris was selected as 24th overall. He was the Steelers’ first running back to be drafted in the opening round since 2008 (Rashard Mendenhall).
Claypool was ninth on the “Veterans” list. Harris was eighth on the “rookies” list.
