Uber, in Pittsburgh, wheelchair customers should confront wheelchair bias
Uber Technologies Inc. has lost an offer to dismiss a proposed class action lawsuit alleging that it discriminates against people with mobility issues by not providing wheelchair accessible vehicles in the Pittsburgh area, according to a ruling by a federal court in Pennsylvania.
Motorized wheelchair users living near Pittsburgh and Pittsburghers for Public Transit claim that ridesharing violates the Americans with Disabilities Act by not providing equal access to public accommodation and public transportation.
