PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Approximately 1,300 Allegheny Technologies employees went on strike Tuesday morning.

The United Steelworkers say they are on strike over unfair labor practices.
This is ATI’s first stoppage since 1994.

The union contract expired in late February and the United Steelworkers accuse ATI of unfair labor practices.
ATI replied, saying that its proposal would raise wages even more.
