What you did not find out about HGTV’s Steve and Leanne Ford

After the siblings finished Leanne Ford’s renovated schoolhouse, their friends (and friends of friends) began contacting them asking them to work on their homes. It wasn’t long before Steve Ford and his sister made home design their main appearance, according to HGTV.

Steve had been involved in the construction for years, but not full-time. Rather, he’d turned to seasonal construction jobs to pay the bills when not indulging in his passion for sports, particularly skiing, snowboarding, rafting, and surfing. Pittsburgh isn’t a surfer hot spot, but it will be if Steve has his way. According to HGTV and his Instagram, he started the Surf Pittsburgh Initiative to show off the joys of wakesurfing to his Pittsburgh roommates.

Leanne worked in a creative field before moving into interior design. According to HGTV, she was a stylist and creative director in New York City and Los Angeles for nearly 15 years. Regarding how similar their two careers are, she said, “Honestly, the same thing in fashion is what I love about interiors, which is new ways of connecting things; new ways of putting things together; old and new, shiny and rusty. “
