William A. Rebel
William A. Rebel (Bill) of The Villages, FL, formerly of Glenshaw, PA, died suddenly on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born on March 22, 1937 in Pittsburgh to the late Andy and Mary (Quigley) Rebel from Pittsburgh, PA.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband. He will be remembered and missed by his 63-year-old wife, JoAnn (Kress) Rebel. his children David (Jan) Rebel, Diane (Jim) Duff, Robert (Val) Rebel; his grandchildren Amanda Rebel (Terry Welsh), Aaron Rebel, Shannon (Eric) Mastriano, Dana (Tyler) Gavin, Kirsten Lowe Rebel (Joe Rusnak); Great-grandchildren Riley and Everly; Sisters Arlene (Jim) Appelt, Lynn Rebel; also many loving nieces, nephews and step families.
Bill served our country in the Navy, followed by a 40-year career with the Duquesne Light Company in Pittsburgh. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steeler fan. After their retirement, Bill and JoAnn were drawn to the warm and friendly lifestyle of The Villages, FL, which has lived there for 21 years. Both enjoyed an active lifestyle that included golf, bowls, swimming, card games, and more.
As much as Bill loved his wife and family, friends also played an important role in his life. He was definitely a person with a ‘train’ of friends who followed him and JoAnn from Pittsburgh to Florida. In Florida, the list of friends continued to grow as his cheerful demeanor affected everyone he met. He will be missed very much by everyone.
