William ‘Invoice’ R. Campbell | Information, Sports activities, Jobs

William “Bill” R. Campbell, 90, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Altoona, died Saturday after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late William M. and Esther C. (McConahy) Campbell.

William is survived by his siblings: Bernard “Bernie” Campbell (Dolores), Alice C. Swab (Ted) and Laura Jean McKinney (Wilbur); sister-in-law, Marge Campbell; 10 nieces and nephews; special friends, Patrick and Carol Haver; and his furry friends, Danny Boy and Gazebo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dick” Campbell.

Bill retired from Westinghouse as an electrical engineer after 42 years of service. He also volunteered with AARP for over 20 years. Bill traveled from Pittsburgh to Altoona to serve at his church, Juniata United Methodist Church for 65 years.

Friends will be received from 3 until the 5 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 N. Fourth St., Altoona. Masks are required in the church building, but ties are optional! Local arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home.

Friends will also be received from 11a.m. until the 2 p.m. religious service Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to First Charities, First Food & Friends Soup Kitchen, 5401 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
