PITTSBURGH – Hill District residents heard four very different suggestions for a new grocery store in their neighborhood at a URA public Zoom meeting Monday night.
With the aim of finding an operator to replace the Shop ‘n Save store, which closed in 2019 in the agency’s Center Heldman Plaza, the URA’s four candidates include an established local operator on the Strip, a startup with local connections from Denver, a local cooperative group and a young six-store chain expanding out of Michigan.
The four candidates made detailed suggestions on how to use the entire 30,000 square meter footprint.
