PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – 94-year-old Ella Mae Smith will keep her thoughts active thanks to a local charity.

Smith spends her days finding words, coloring in and reading crime stories.

The Allegheny County chapter of the Twilight Wish Foundation saw her as the perfect candidate for new coloring books, crayons, new books, and a laptop desk to help her stay active.

“Well, you have to do these activities to keep going,” said Smith. “If you got up in the morning and had nothing to do, it would be a sad thing, but that keeps you busy, it keeps your mind working, especially the word searches and the coloring that lets your imagination run wild with anything you can you wish but I didn’t know that would happen So I have my 15 minutes of fame. ”

When Ella was young, she volunteered at the blackboard, participated in community activities, and loved gardening.
