A girl’s hairdressing video on TikTok says all of us wash our hair the fallacious approach
Washing hair is an “art”.
Kami Kirschbaum taught this to TikTok users who have not yet fully mastered the skill. On Thursday October 28th, the 22-year-old beauty influencer shared a brief tutorial on how to wash your hair, unaware that it was going to go viral with more than 1.4 million views.
Her 17-second video, titled “Tips From a Former Barber,” reveals the wrong and right way to shampoo your hair.

Instead of rubbing shampoo on top of the head, Kirschbaum recommends scrubbing the scalp in sections with your fingertips. She also went on to say it’s important to scrub the crown and the nape of the neck, which in her opinion is “the most forgotten part”.
Kami Kirschbaum brought her hairdressing skills to TikTok to show people how to wash their hair properly. The video garnered 1.4 million views in six days.

Kirschbaum likes to clean her hair two or three times on wash days to make sure her hair is “squeaky clean,” but she told Fox News that this may not be necessary for people who wash their hair every day.
“I didn’t say everyone should wash two or three times. I need the shampoo two or three times to even out the other times because my hair is textured and I leave it on for four days to a week between washes.” said Kirschbaum. “People who wash themselves every day should definitely not wash themselves two or three times.”

If your hair feels dry after shampooing, Kirschbaum recommends using a moisturizing cleaner, conditioner, or hair mask.
Kirschbaum, a licensed hairdresser in Sweden and temporarily based in Pittsburgh, believes salon-quality products are the way to go.

“I recommend salon–Quality hair products about what you get in the drugstore because they actually help the hair, “Kirschbaum told Fox Hair, it’s much more specific and much more targeted. You have more control over how you want your hair to be.”

Kirschbaum came to TikTok in May 2020 and has been sharing videos from the fields of beauty, fashion and self-help ever since.
With her hairdressing background, Kirschbaum shares hair care and styling methods that are practiced by salon professionals. While she didn’t anticipate her hair washing video going viral, she told Fox she felt moved to share the tutorial because she saw that a lot of people aren’t getting the results they want.
Kami Kirschbaum told Fox News that she moved from Pittsburgh to Stockholm, Sweden, to attend school when she was 19. There she became a hairdresser and has been practicing the art for three years. But now she’s taking a break to focus on social media marketing.

“A lot of people have product or oil deposits and don’t even know it,” said Kirschbaum. “You have to clean your hair. Washing your hair properly never harms you.”

Commentators interfered in Kirschbaum’s video. Some TikTok users couldn’t believe that there are people out there who say they don’t know how to wash their hair properly. Few of the brave admitted that they learned how to do it right later in life.
“I didn’t expect that,” said Kirschbaum. “One girl said, ‘I didn’t know how to wash my hair until I was 25. And I learned it on TikTok.’ She continued, ‘It feels so much better now.’ Honestly, that’s best for me. All I want to do is help people. “
