Alcoa: 4Q Earnings Snapshot | Enterprise information

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Alcoa Corp. (AA) reported a loss of $ 4 million in the fourth quarter on Wednesday.

The Pittsburgh-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents per share. Adjusted for one-time gains and costs, earnings were 26 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street’s expectations. The average estimate by five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was earnings of 15 cents per share.

The bauxite, alumina, and aluminum products company had sales of $ 2.39 billion for the period, also beating Street’s forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $ 2.35 billion.

For the year, the company reported its loss decreased to $ 170 million, or 91 cents per share. The turnover was given with 9.29 billion US dollars.

Alcoa stock is down nearly 1% since the start of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index is up nearly 3%. In the last few minutes of trading on Wednesday, stocks hit $ 22.84, up 33% over the past 12 months.
