Allegheny Co. Well being Dept. experiences 693 new instances, 6 extra deaths – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department reports 693 new coronavirus cases and six more deaths.

Of the newly reported cases, 477 out of 1,673 PCR tests were confirmed. There are 216 likely cases.

“New cases range from 4 days to 102 years with an average age of 44 years,” says the health department. The dates for positive tests run from November 16 to December 7.

There have been 2,311 hospitalizations in Allegheny County since the outbreak began. Of all hospitalized patients, 509 had to be treated in the intensive care unit and 184 of them had to be treated with a ventilator.

The nationwide death toll has risen to 585. Of the six newly reported deaths, three are associated with long-term care facilities, according to the health department.

Two of the patients were in their 70s, three in their 80s, and one in their 90s. The health department says her death dates are between November 25th and December 6th.

There have been a total of 34,814 coronavirus cases among residents of Allegheny County since the pandemic began.

As of March 14, there have been 34,814 cases of COVID-19, 2,311 hospitalizations and 585 deaths in Allegheny County.

According to health officials, 285,355 people across the county have been tested for COVID-19, according to Saturday’s report.
