“When they got to the scene, they had encountered an obstacle, they had live power lines in front of the house,” said chief Jeffrey Tomovcsik of the McKeesport Fire Department. “Which essentially split the scene in half, namely right in front of the burning main residence. The crews were able to work around this until Duquesne Light arrived on site and secured the power supply. ”
According to fire investigators, at least six adults and two children have now been displaced and are receiving help from the Red Cross.
Four dogs were also able to leave the houses safely.
