Dr. Vega did Magna Cum Laude at from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico 1998 with a Bachelor in General Science and then with an MD at the Ponce School of Medicine, Ponce, PR in 2002. During her medical degree, she was president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and was selected to represent her school for the American Association of Medical Colleges. Dr. Vegas’ interest in patient care brought her here University of Texas Southwest in Dallas where she completed a specialist training in internal medicine (2005) and a scholarship in endocrinology, diabetes, minerals and metabolism (2007). As a fellow, Dr. Vega an NIH grant that culminated in several research presentations and publications on the practice of endocrinology.
