Bosworth Awards 20th Annual Pearce Memorial Scholarship | life-style
Emily Bosworth of Bradford received the Amanda Susan Pearce Memorial Fellowship of $ 500 in 2021.
This is the 20th year for the annual scholarship. Bosworth is the 23rd student to receive the award as there have been a number of multi-recipient years.
Bosworth is the daughter of Tim and Erin Bosworth. She plans to study engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
She is a member of the Bradford Area High School football and track and field teams and skis. Your community service includes participation in the BAHS Volunteer Club.
Bosworth is a two-time MVP who has received the Soccer Coaches Award and is a member of the National Honor Society.
The scholarship was launched in 2001 in memory of Amanda Susan Pearce, daughter of Ralph N. and Susan Rhoades Pearce. Pearce is a Bradford High graduate who was killed in a car accident in November 2000. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a sophomore degree in environmental science and was recognized for her educational, athletic, and musical talents.
The scholarship was made through limited contributions to the Bradford Public Schools Foundation.
The award is given to students who stand for human kindness, friendliness and high moral character. willingness to help others; Enthusiasm for learning increased through extracurricular efforts; financial responsibility; Respect for school staff; and pursuit of secondary education.
Applicants are required to write an essay on life experiences.
