All meetings take place in the common room of the Sewickley Public Library from 7-9pm. On November 29th, host Lynne Schneider and speakers George Craig (Pony Express) and Linda Zang (Cahokia: America’s First City) will attend.

Cochran Hose Company holiday events

Santa Claus at the train station takes place on December 5th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There are rides in the fire engine, snacks, handicrafts, fire safety on the topic of holidays and of course Santa Claus! This is a free event for the whole family, but the Cochran Hose Company will be collecting new, unpackaged toys for Toys for Tots.

• The annual Toys for Tots campaign is also underway. New, unwrapped toys can be returned during normal business hours at Sewickley Crazy Mocha, The Ultimate Pastry Shop, Fun by the Pound and Bridgeside Market through December 5th during Light Up Night on December 3rd.

Old Economy Village Christmas Tours

The Old Economy Village in Ambridge is running Christmas tours for children from November 30th to December 22nd. The tours are designed for preschool through third grade. This program lasts an hour and a half.

The first hour consists of five tour stops in the village. The last half hour is a party with Belsnickel (the German helper of Nicholas who keeps the cheeky and nice books). Train show

The Ohio Valley Lines Model Railroad is hosting a number of open house events: May 27-28. November 4-5 December 11-12 December 18-28 December, 26th December, 1-2. 8-9.

The requested donation is $ 6 for adults and $ 2 for children ages 3 to 12. HO and N layouts, a flea market, and more will be available. The Ohio Valley Lines Model Railroad is located at 1225 Merchant Street in Ambridge. For more information, call 724-266-4787 or visit ohiovalleylines.org.

Business relationship in the greater Pittsburgh area

The Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection, a referral group of business people, will meet on December 1 at Eat N ‘Park on Route 60 in Robinson Township for breakfast from 7.15am to 8.30am
