Fireworks explode in pickup truck, significantly injuring man – CBS Pittsburgh

Emmaus, PA (AP) – Officials say a fireworks explosion in a pickup truck seriously injured a man in eastern Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Emmaus police said a 35-year-old man was in a truck when the fireworks exploded just before 10 p.m. on Sunday.

He was rushed to Lehi Valley Hospital in a serious condition with an injury that Chief Troy Schants described as “severe”.

Police, first responders and the Allentown Bombing Squad were called to the scene and found the truck badly damaged and all windows blown away.

Investigators found that the man bought the fireworks about a year ago and was not involved in their creation.
