GREENSBURG, PA (KDKA) – Former pirate pitcher Felipe Vazquez has been found guilty on multiple charges.

He has been found not guilty of 10 incidents of unlawful contact or communication with a minor.
The final arguments in the sexual assault and child pornography trial were closed on Thursday afternoon. The judge blamed the jury and informed them that they would likely stay until the evening.
During the consultation on Wednesday evening, the jury had a few questions. They asked the judge if they could see pictures and videos of the 13-year-old girl. All other questions could not be answered, said the judge.
On the fourth day of the trial, Vazquez, who is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl, stood up for cross-examination with prosecutors. He further denied that he knew the prosecutor was a minor. He was up to date for more than three hours.
He admitted that he had lied under oath earlier in the investigation and denied telling investigators that his accuser looked “too young”. He told the court he thought she was a mature woman and he wanted a relationship with her.
Also at the booth, he said his accuser walked like a model at a fashion show. When prosecutors told him to walk like the prosecutor, the 6-foot-4 Vazquez followed. His attorney then said to have the file mirrored to Vazquez, who fluttered through the courtroom like a model.

The defense in their closing arguments continued to press that the prosecutor was playing Vazquez and making him believe she was a grown woman. They claim she implicated Vazquez in the sexual acts.
After a pause, prosecutors stated several times that the prosecutor was a minor and was still a minor at the age of 17. The former pitcher was not interested in a relationship, but did all of this for his own satisfaction. They showed the jury several pictures of the prosecutor to emphasize their age at the time of the sexual encounter with Vazquez.

On Wednesday, 29-year-old Vazquez took a position to convince the jury that he did not know it was a minor when allegedly establishing a sexual relationship with the then 13-year-old girl.
The now 17-year-old teenager was interrogated on Tuesday and collapsed several times under targeted questioning.
Vazquez’s senior defense attorney asked the girl why she allegedly had a relationship with a 26-year-old man in 2017. The teenager replied, “I used it to get attention with an MLB player. I felt like the coolest kid in the world.”
She admitted that she didn’t know if Vazquez had a clue that she was only 13 when they first met on social media. She also confirmed that during a break in a police interview, she told her mother that she should be the one in trouble. She told the court on Tuesday that she said this to protect him: “It was all so fresh, I didn’t understand anything.”
