BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA) – In the season 11 premiere of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Erika Girardi, who flaunts her lavish lifestyle on the show, faces backlash after her estranged husband embezzled millions of dollars from vulnerable customers to save her expensive life finance.

Thomas Girardi, once a prominent LA attorney, allegedly poured millions of dollars into an unlawful death lawsuit against Boeing awarded to survivors and family members of victims of the 2018 Indonesian plane crash.

Girardi has since been banned in California.

Chicago attorney Jay Edelson, who partnered with Girardi to represent the victims of the 2018 crash, is suing Erika’s ex-husband, saying Girardi stole the money and returned to those who suffered from that tragedy Sacrifice made.

“You have this kind of celebrity lawyer with his celebrity wife who only spend on who knows what. It’s really hard to work with, ”Edelson told CBSLA’s Lesley Marin
