Free mulch for Pittsburgh residents forward of the spring gardening season – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – For Pittsburgh residents in need of mulch, this might be your lucky day.
After nearly 40 tons of recycled Christmas trees have been made into mulch, the City of Pittsburgh is making this mulch available to residents of the city for free.
City residents can pick up this free mulch at eight different locations from April 10 to May 10, while supplies last.
The following locations are open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Riverview Park
- Moore Park
- Sheraden Park
- Zoo overflow parking lot (pine mulch only)
- Highland park
The following locations are open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- 5. Public Works Department (Hassler Strasse)
- 2nd Public Works Department (Hamilton Avenue)
- 3rd Public Works Department (Melanchton Street)
Residents must bring their own buckets, gloves and shovels.
